Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program
The Education Foundation provides these extraordinary STEM +A-Rts educational experiences for Apollo-Ridge students using funds from the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program:
Arts Enrichment
Students in grades 2 and 4 attend Schooltime Concerts presented by the Pittsburgh Symphony.
Thirty guitars were purchased to create a new program for freshmen in the humanities rotation.
The Foundation sponsored a program on 9/11 presented by the Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial to the students and the community.
STEM Enrichment
All elementary students visited the Outdoor Discovery Center at Crooked Creek, Armstrong County’s only destination providing environmental education & responsible resource conservation.
Anatomy students observe open heart surgeries at Allegheny General Hospital
Students who score at least a 3 on AP exams are reimbursed for the test-taking expense.
Fees are paid for high school and middle school students to participate in local Quiz Bowl, Rube Goldberg, and Math League academic competitions.
A new course in electrical circuitry, using world-class curriculum from Project Lead the Way, was funded for students in grade 8.
